6 Effective Ways To Maintain Healthy Weight

So you reached your target weight? Now what? Are you confused about how to proceed with your fitness regime after you have lost all the weight you wanted to lose? Trust me when I say that it is more difficult to maintain that much coveted weight and hot body than actually losing the weight. Why? Simple, because once we reach that target weight, it all comes back with a vengeance in no time due to our carelessness and lack of knowledge.

Top 6 Ways To Maintain Healthy Weight:

Here are a few pointers for you on how to get healthy body weight:

1. Choosing Right Path:

The most important thing in weight loss is how you actually lose your weight. If you make your body suffer through crash diets, endless illogical workouts by spending maximum time in gym or shortcuts like weight loss capsules, you will definitely get your weight back and more. Not to mention the skin problems, hair fall, and other health related problems that will be resulted from it. It is important to lose weight the right way i.e., gradually, with right diet, right exercise and right rest.

It is important to bring changes in your lifestyle and not just counting your calories.

2. Right Diet:

Eat lean, fresh, seasonal and healthy. Eat organic. Include super foods in your diet. Make sure your body gets a balanced diet with all the required nutrients. Do not eat junk food. Eat small portions of food every 2-3 hours. The idea is to not let your stomach feel empty to start storing fat. Frequent, small meals also ensure to burn the calories of your consumed food.

3. Right Exercise:

So, what do we mean by exercising right? Not spending hours and hours doing an ineffective workout. You will only end up exerting your body, tearing your muscles and bringing actual harm to your body. At the end you will end up hating exercise. Spend 30-45 minutes working out. That is enough to maintain a healthy weight. Make sure you incorporate cardio and weight training and also some form of toning exercise, such as day, legs day, etc. but do not work only on isolated separate parts of your body. It does not work that way. Include exercises that work on multiple muscles at a time. Combine the muscle groups, like doing arms and abs in the same session, or doing cardio and full body toning same day.

4. Right Rest:

Remember the saying, “early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” It is true! You must take a minimum 6 hour sleep (8hours would be perfect). If you are cutting short on your sleep and not giving your body that proper rest it needs, it will show on your skin as wrinkles and pimple and will lead to weight gain. To maintain a healthy weight, give your body time to repair, rejuvenate, and regenerate.

5. Water:

Drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. Another thing you should take note of is what you are drinking throughout the day and what you drink in the morning when you get up. Infused water is awesome, full of flavor and tasty. Infuse your water with lemon, mint, orange and such. Fruit like orange helps in detoxification of body and reduce bloating. Lemon is known to help in maintaining a healthy weight.

Drink fenugreek water or honey-lemon water or amla-aloevera juice in the morning in an empty stomach. They keep weight in check and also provide various benefits to skin, hair and body. Drinking gourd (lauki) juice and wheatgrass juice helps in maintaining weight.

6. Be Active:

Just doing workout in the morning is not enough for a day. Include small things like doing some kind of exercise, such as stretching while sitting in your office, walking a few steps after prolonged periods of sitting in a place, taking stairs instead of lifts and accelerators, walking the short distances to market or bus stops instead of using a vehicle. Small changes give big results!

Losing weight and then maintaining that healthy weight is all about changing the way we maintain our lifestyle. Keep in mind that your goal should never be to just to lose weight or get thin, it should be to become healthier, fitter and, most importantly, stronger, and staying that way.
