What Is A Body Wrap?

To put it simply, a body wrap is an herbal wrap that is wrapped around your body to help you lose weight. Body wrap became popular in the last 1980s and early 1990s. In the initial stages of body wrap, linen sheets were used. But lately, these sheets were replaced by thermal blankets and plastics.

How To Make A Body Wrap At Home:

Below is an easy method to make a body wrap:

Things Required:

  • 2 cups of dead sea clay
  • 1 cup of sea salt
  • ½ cup of chamomile powder
  • ½ cup of parsley powder (1)
  • 1 cup of kelp powder
  • 18 ml of essential oils (You may choose essential oils of your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons of Aloe Vera gel
  • 2 tablespoons of shea oil (2)
  • 1.8 liters of water
  • Medical cloth bandages

If you wish to, you may also add to the list whole milk or goat’s milk in the place of other liquids in the wrap.

How To Make:

Step 1:

Before you begin the weight loss process, choose a corner of your house that is calm. If you choose a room, keep that room warm. Throw a sheet on the floor of the room. When you apply the wrap, it gets a bit messy. The sheet works as a mat.

Step 2:

Boil water. Add all the ingredients to the boiled water. Stir the mixture until the sea salt dissolves. Now, leave the mixture. Let it to cool for 10 minutes.

Step 3:

Take a few bandages. Soak them in this mixture. Make sure the soaked bandage is warm and not hot.

Step 4:

Wrap these bandages around your naked body. Keep in mind that you should move these bandages in a circular motion. Use metal clips to secure the bandages. The bandages should be tied well to ensure they don’t move out of the place. Do not tie them so tightly that they cause you pain. If you find it difficult to wrap the bandages on your own, ask a friend or family for assistance.

Step 5:

Leave the wrap on your body for 45 to 60 minutes. In the period, it is advised you stay warm. You may perform some sort of exercise. Or you may also use a thermal foil blanket to keep yourself warm.

There are a few points you should keep in your mind before you start the wrapping process. One of them is to avoid the consumption of unhealthy food. Do not consume caffeine, alcohol and cigarettes 48 hours before the wrapping procedure. Also, drink plenty of water before the wrapping session. Even after you are done with the wrapping job, do drink water. It helps to clear your body off toxins.

Body wrap is gaining momentum across the world as a quick weight loss technique. However, it is wise to consult a doctor to be fully assured if the wrap suits your body condition or not.
