Sugar not so sweet for weight loss

Studies have shown that a 5-10% reduction in body weight can decrease blood pressure and cholesterol, decrease your chances of developing diabetes and increasing longevity.

Practically speaking if you eat one chocolate bar every day, cutting that out will reduce your weight by 5kg in one year (all other things being equal). We don't all normally eat a bar every day, but that's symbolic of the extra teaspoon of sugar you put in your coffee or that drive-thru fast food meal, etc. It won't be easy, as sugar is extremely addictive but it's a craving that's worth kicking.

If you feel hungry or peckish, drink a glass of water and wait at least 10 minutes before reacting to your perceived need for food. All too often the craving will disappear. Do that on a regular basis and you can kiss those extra unnecessary kilos goodbye.
