Here are some super-effective tips to improve your overall health and help you get the body of your dreams this summer:

Lose weight with protein

Protein is critical for muscle growth and proper recovery following a workout session, but it can also help you get rid of excess weight by keeping cravings and hunger pangs at bay.
A joint study by the University of Sydney and Cambridge University found that people who ate a daily diet comprising 15 percent of protein consumed about 1 000 fewer calories over four days than those whose diet was less than 10 percent protein. According to the same study, about 70 percent of the extra calories came from snacks and unhealthy means.

Team up with some friends

Team spirit can boost your chances of losing fat and getting into the best shape ever. This is no secret. According to a two year study conducted by the University of Pennsylvania, people who exercised with a partner lost more kilos (and had a good time doing it!) than those who went solo.

Another study by Oxford University showed that working with a group minimized the perceived level of exertion and helps exercisers tolerate more pain, thus leading to better fitness results.

Vitamin D is key for developing a sculpted body

A study published in the New England Journal of Medicine showed that, not only taking vitamin D can boost muscle mass and strength, but it also helps ward off bone mineral loss and osteoporosis. In addition, it can also help regulate blood sugar levels (thus prevent hunger pangs).

Eat fresh vegetables

Eating fresh vegetables on a daily basis is the perfect eating choice. Fresh vegetables are full of many valuable nutrients that your body is unable to get form supplements. For instance, cruciferous vegetables, such as cabbage and broccoli, hold many natural isothiocyanates (key for reducing the risk of some cancers) that cannot be readily obtained from ingesting supplements.
Not only that, taking supplements on a daily basis slows metabolism (thus less calories burned), a study by Oregon State University showed.

Run from hunger

Running is cardio exercise par excellence. Not only is running proven to burn fat and boost metabolism levels through the roof but it can also help diminish appetite.
According to a study published by The Journal of Sports Science, opting for a long run leads to lower levels of ghrelin - the hormone in charge of hunger. Therefore, running at 60-70 percent of your maximum cardio capacity for more than 45 minutes can help you shed the kilos and keep hunger at bay.
