‘What I am tomorrow, is what I eat today’

Make your kitchen a safer place to eat, by trimming your grocery trolley from unnecessary calories. Danna Demetre, author of Change Your habits, Change Your Life says that the old cliché that ‘you are what you eat’ is very true. If we have easy access to something delicious and unhealthy, we will eat it.

But if you work to eliminate junk food from your house, you will start to reap amazing benefits. When your fridge is stocked with fruits and vegetables, you will snack on them. One battle for your body’s health is won at the grocery store.

So the next time you go grocery shopping, try doing the following things to improve your odds of winning:

  • Don’t go shopping when you are hungry as you will be more vulnerable to buy whatever looks good (and usually it isn’t broccoli).

  • Look at the contents of your shopping trolley before you check out. Do you picture a fat or a healthy person buying these items? Are there more natural or more packaged foods?

  • Ask yourself if the items you are purchasing will benefit or damage your body or if it is worth the calories?
