Throw out refined carbohydrates

Refined foods such as cakes, biscuits, chocolate, cooldrinks, white bread, etc., should be thrown out of your kitchen, if you are trying to lose weight. These foods will cause your blood sugar levels to spike and, apart from increasing your calorie intake, may leave you experiencing irritability, anger or sometimes even depression.

In addition, they may also trigger cravings and often enough you may find yourself craving and eating more unhealthy and non nutritious snacks…. And so the cycle continues and your weight increases.

Try replacing these highly processed foods in your diet with vegetables and fruits, whole wheat bread, brown rice and brown pasta, instead. Fruits and vegetables contain natural sugars which will help ease your cravings for sugar whilst whole wheat bread, brown rice and pasta contain fibre which will help speed up your metabolism.
