What time of the evening do you have dinner? If you are a late night eater, then take heed – you could be setting yourself up for weight gain!
MensHealth say that experts have gone back and forth on determining whether eating late does in fact lead to weight gain, however a study published in the journal Obesity has found a solid link.
Eating and sleeping patterns investigated
During the study, Northwestern University researchers investigated the eating as well as the sleeping patterns of 52 adults. The results concluded that those participants who often ate after 20h00 ingested the most calories and carried the most body fat.
Plan ahead
So try having your dinner a few hours before bedtime. You may find that you would need to prepare your meals earlier if you are to eat earlier. So plan ahead of time as this prevents you from falling into the trap of being unprepared and reaching for the takeout menu when you start getting hunger pangs.
