If you want to lose weight, try scheduling just 10 minutes into your daily diary for burning calories.

This will help you remain fit, especially if your day is loaded with tons of things to do, such as taking care of the children, work, household chores, errands, etc. Taking 10 minutes just for yourself will not only help calm your mind from the daily stresses, but will also help you burn some calories at the same time.

RunnersWorld suggests the following 10 minute workout:

• Warm up with brisk walking for one to two minutes.
• Then alternate running for two minutes with walking for 30 seconds. If you feel good, gradually increase the speed of your run segments.
• Repeat this three times.
• To cool down, jog lightly for one minute.

If you cannot leave the house (for example, if you are alone at home with a sleeping baby), then you can walk briskly from room to room, and up and down any stairs. You could also use a spare minute to jog on the spot for 20 steps.
