1. Identify what your self-limiting beliefs involving your self-image as well as your weight are.

2. Consider lifestyle changes, as opposed to thinking ‘diet’.

Look at weight loss as a long term strategy that involves making healthy changes to one’s eating plan. This will help you maintain weight loss over time. For example, increase your water and fruit intake if you are not consuming a sufficient amount.

3. Focus on what it is that you want to achieve, and not why you think it is unachievable.

Stay positive and determined and don’t allow negative thoughts to cloud your mind and judgement.

4. Do which physical activity you enjoy doing – going to gym is not a must-do!

For example, if you enjoy walking, jogging or running, you could join an athletics club or simply do these activities on your own or with a friend.

5. Meals and exercise should be planned.

Try adopting some new habits regarding food and exercise that will help boost your new goals. For example, when preparing healthy meals try making a little extra and freezing it for another day. This will help you avoid eating out.
