Have you tried the Eco Diet?

Weight loss in itself is pretty simple - eat less and move more. So why does it seem so difficult and how can the Eco Diet help you lose weight?

It’s not surprising that, as a society, we are struggling to lose weight. Our food today is loaded with chemicals, hormones, food additives and multiple processing methods that not only alter our body chemistry, but our taste buds too, so we tend to eat and eat and eat!

Some foods and substances, like sugar, are also addictive, which then affect our endocrine system, our brain and body chemistry and flood the body with excess chemicals that it doesn't know what to do with.

What is the Eco Diet?

The Eco Diet is a holistic nutrition and lifestyle approach that starts by identifying toxic chemicals, which inhibit your desired results, in your body and in the food you eat.

For example, you may suffer from water retention, have uncontrollable cravings, feel lethargic and depressed, have allergies and intolerances to food, lack zest for life and feel you need stimulants and sugar to get you through the day - these are all signs that the body is not functioning at its peak and is out of balance.

The cleaner you eat, the leaner you'll be!

The more natural, fresh and whole your food, the better it is for your waistline and your overall health and wellness - which is really what we should all be focusing on.

You can’t go wrong with lean proteins, fruit and an abundance of vegetables, some whole grains and essential fats.

Beauty starts with nutrition

I’m a strong believer in the link between what we put in our body and how we end up looking. There is scientific evidence that the food we eat alters our body and brain chemistry, our mood and even our addictions.

The fastest and quickest way to looking good is to be healthy from within. It shows in your hair, nails, skin and in how you feel and function! So beauty and health go hand-in-hand.

How to get started on the Eco Diet

1. Go organic and/or hormone free

Aim to eat organic food, but if this isn’t possible, don’t sweat it, just make sure all your animal products - including chicken, meat and dairy - are all hormone free.

2. Half your diet should be raw

Make sure at least half your diet consists of raw fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds. The rest of your diet should consist of lean, hormone free protein sources and some wholegrain.

3. Try resistance training

Remember that 90% of your weight loss success will be due to your diet, so there is no need to do endless hours of exercise. However, while nutrition is the key to fat loss, exercise sculpts the body!

The most effective way to tone your body is through resistance training. Make no mistake, cardio plays a crucial role in health and your cardiovascular system, but in its efforts in terms of fat loss, cardio plays a secondary role.

4. Supplement your diet

In terms of supplements and whole foods, I am a huge fan of Marcus Rohrer Spirulina. It’s the richest and most complete source of nutrition and contains over 100 nutrients and the full spectrum of all of the essential amino acids, chlorophyll, enzymes and antioxidants.

It’s a 'wholefood' natural vitamin, and unlike many vitamins on the shelf, it’s not synthetically manufactured! The assimilation of nutrients from Marcus Rohrer Spirulina is superior and how nature intended humans to ingest vitamins and minerals!
