Setting yourself up for failure

Losing weight isn't easy and sometimes it can feel like we need to do the almost impossible just to see a fraction of a result.

The truth is, we don't. You don't. You don't have to tell yourself you'll lose X number of kilos before spring, when you know deep in your heart that you're probably setting yourself up for failure.

Having a realistic goal is the key to successfully losing weight.

Even if it seems silly, start with small goals. Aim to cut out one bad food a day. Challenge yourself to do 15 minutes of exercise a day – even if you have to park the car further away, use the stairs, or jog on the spot in front of the TV.

You'll feel more motivated to keep up with your weight loss plan. This way you can always add more steps as you go along – without feeling as though you're ready to throw in the towel.
