Break the monotony of exercise routines

If you are not a ‘routine person’, then trying to follow one in an attempt to lose some weight, may not prove to be very beneficial – as it may demotivate you from keeping up with your weight loss plan.

Break the monotony

You could try breaking the monotony of your exercise routines by doing one or more of the following:

Vary your exercise times

If possible, try varying the times that you exercise. For example you could workout at 5:00am on Mondays and 5:00pm the next day. The change of atmosphere may be a good distraction for some people.

Vary your exercise routine

Try doing different types of exercises either in one session, or in each different session. For example begin a session by stretching, then jump with a skipping rope followed by a run - or you could dance on Mondays and perform specific exercises on Tuesdays, yoga on Wednesdays, and so on.

Vary your location

Try exercising at home on one day, then at a park (or somewhere safe) the following day, go to the gym on the third day, etc.

Breaking the monotony can thus be done in various ways, depending on your time and finances. All it takes is a little planning and you will be on your way to looking slimmer!
