Here are five food and drink ideas that will help you cut calories and avoid those naughty food temptations:

Healthy fridge foods

  1. Iced green tea. Green tea contains plenty of health properties and makes a great alternative to those sugary cool drinks or fruit juices.

  2. Whole-wheat pitas. If you're trying to cut out – or cut back on – bread, this is a tasty way to do it.

  3. Crunchy raw veggies. Pop some sliced carrots, cucumber and celery into a see-through container for snacking.

  4. Fresh fruit salad. Chop up your favourite fruits and squeeze some high vitamin C juice on top to prevent it from going brown. Also put this in a see-through container.

  5. Low-fat yoghurt. Buy a big tub and enjoy a little at a time as a snack on its own, with some nuts or seeds, or a little fruit salad.
