If you want to lose some weight then make it your main goal right from the start!

Stay focused

Stay focused on losing weight. Inform those around you of your intentions and engage in activities that support your goal. For example, buy yourself new running shoes, ask a friend to regularly go for a walk with you as opposed to going out for the usual tea and cake, etc.

Set reminders

Place reminders to help keep you on track for losing weight. They may also be used to prevent you from performing habits that may slow your pace at losing weight. For example, stick a note of the refrigerator reminding you to eat an apple a day, or stick a note on a bag of potato chips that you may have stored in your kitchen cupboard, telling you that it is high in calories. These little reminders may make you think twice when you are about to indulge in high fat or high sugar foods.

Do what it takes

Make changes to your lifestyle, your home and your activities that will help you to achieve your weight loss goals. For example, buy a skipping rope and skip for 10 minutes daily instead of lazing on the couch. You could also throw out the junk foods and opt to walk to close facilities instead of travelling by car.

Losing weight does not have to be a battle. Try making small changes from the start, stay focused and watch the weight melt off!
