Tim Noakes 'created' ('permanently borrowed' is more accurate) his Real Meal Revolution from a couple of central ideas that have existed in the diet world for (literally) centuries, starting with William BANTING's 'A Letter on Corpulence' first published in 1863 - more on the real Mr. Banting later.

This was the first, but certainly not the last, low carbohydrate diet idea that has existed. We've had high protein, high fat, low carb; high protein, low fat, low carb; high protein, high fat, no carb; etc etc etc.

Tim Noakes' so-called Revolution is not a new idea.

It's a low carb, high fat, moderate protein eating plan with a focus on eating and drinking organic, free-range, natural foods. This makes it a pretty close match to Paleo/Zone/South Beach/Atkins/(insert your preferred low carb diet name here).
