1. Drink more water

Carry a water bottle with you. If you don’t like the taste of water, add fresh fruit and/or herb leaves to give some natural sweetness and flavour.

2. Cut out refined carbs

Cut out refined carbs, like sugar, fizzy drinks, packaged cereals, white rice and white bread. Replace them with fibre-rich complex carbs, like fruit, root vegetables, whole grains and legumes.

3. Don’t eat fruit after 2pm

Fruit eaten after heavier meals encourages weight gain.

4. Do more than just cardio exercise

Resistance training - whether you’re lifting weights or using your own body weight and doing Pilates - helps rev up your metabolism for hours after your workout.

5. Keep a food diary

Writing down everything you eat will help keep you accountable for and aware of what you consume.
