Cut down on dessert calories

If you are trying to drop a few kilograms and are trying really hard not to gain any more, then it may be worthwhile for you to do the following:

Skip dessert

Skipping dessert altogether can save you from consuming hundreds of calories on a daily basis. If you tend to have dessert on every day of the week, then maybe try to have it on alternate days, or skip a few days if you can.

Cut down on portion size

You could also try to reduce the portion size of your dessert. Cut down slowly and you may find that it is not as hard as you think it is.

Here is a quick and easy dessert that may tickle your taste buds and may hold fewer calories than some of the desserts that you may currently be having (depending on what they are).

Cut filo pastry into small squares. Place a piece of dark chocolate into each square and fold the pastry over it. Bake until pastry turns golden brown. You could even add small pieces of fruit together with the chocolate for a change in taste and flavour. Remember that dark chocolate is high in antioxidants and has anti-ageing properties, so it will be a better option than milk chocolate, which is also higher in calories.
