Tip: Divide (correctly) and Conquer

One of the most common problems I see with the way people try to eat when they want to lose weight is that they have no idea of what the ratios of the foods on their plate should look like, to be in balance.

The usual picture is something like this: 50% of the plate is covered in some sort of meat; 30% contains starch of some sort; and the remaining 20% is made up of vegetables or is left empty.

Unfortunately this is not the solution to your weight problem, because sometimes it is how the problem became a problem in the first place...

You see, in order to have the CALORIES and NUTRIENTS on your plate in BALANCE (balanced nutrition is good for weight loss), you need to cover about 65% of your plate in vegetables, 15% protein, 15% starch and 5% fats. This makes for a good balance of calories across the nutrient spectrum.

It seems too simple to be effective, but if you can just get this right, you'll begin to see results in a short period of time.
