Try babysitting your niece or nephew, a friend’s toddler or even your neighbour’s super active child. The more active and ‘on their feet’ the child is, the better! This is a guaranteed way to help get you off the couch and become active yourself as young children are always on the move.

Here are some activities that you can do to help increase your calorie burning sessions:

* Take turns with the child trying to catch one another whilst the other person is running away.

* Play an outdoor sport as opposed to playing indoor board games or watching television.

* Jump on a trampoline or turn up the music and dance together.You can end your day by taking the child for a brisk walk if you are both still energized or alternatively a relaxing walk if the child is beginning to feel tired.

* You could even carry the child to further increase calorie burnout and lose weight. Remember to hydrate and have healthy snacks if you start to feel hungry.
