Engaging in warm-up exercises can be a great way to burn some calories, whilst getting your body geared up to start your workout routine (and burning even more!).
Here are two simple exercises that you could add to your warm-up routine.
Stand up straight and keep your arms out to the side for balance. Now sidestep by crossing your trailing foot across the front. Then step out with the other foot and bring the trailing foot behind. Repeat this process.
Run, but extend your stride beyond its normal length to bound forwards in big strides. Try not to sink into each step too much – rather use your arms to assist you in driving yourself forwards.
Always remember to consult with your doctor before starting any new exercise regime or making intense changes to your current one – especially if you suffer from any medical conditions and for some reason are required not to place your body or yourself under any form of stress or strain.
