Make weight loss a part of your daily routine

You may often find that when you place specific focus on a task – especially one that you may be procrastinating! – it may seem even more difficult to achieve.

For some people, losing weight may be such a task. If you find that you are in this position, then try making the daunting task of losing weight a part of your daily routine. You can do this in several ways.

Here are some ideas:

Increase your level of physical activity

Walk more. Take an early morning or afternoon stroll – the fresh air will keep you feeling energised and refreshed too! Start with five minutes and adjust your time accordingly – that is, as you become more fit and can accommodate more time into your busy day.

Carry your own groceries or files if possible. The added weight will increase the number of calories you burn for the day.

Eat and drink healthily

Only keep healthy snacks at home and at the office. As the saying goes ‘Out of sight, out of mind!’. You will find yourself eating much healthier snacks on a daily basis. Opt for fresh fruit and vegetables.

Carrying a water bottle around with you wherever you go will act as a constant reminder to stay hydrated – with water as opposed to high calorie beverages. In days of hot weather, water is a great refreshment and it will support your weight loss efforts too!
