Many people who try to use exercise to speed up weight loss believe that the best way to do this is to do endless hours of long, slow 'cardio'.

Most believe that jogging, cycling, or walking will help with quick weight loss.

These exercises WILL help you lose some weight. However, they WILL NOT help you be a more able human being, or benefit you later in life.

Practising exercises that require you to move your own body weight through space - like push ups, squats, pullups, etc., - will stand you in good stead for your daily life because they make you stronger and prevent muscle loss. At the same time, they make you fitter and contribute towards weight loss. This is called resistance training
