In a perfect world we'd all be lean and muscular, fit and strong from birth

No-one would get fat and the only food available would be healthy, nourishing food.

Unfortunately life doesn't work that way. Whether you're in amazing shape or struggling with your weight, you have to maintain incredible discipline in your diet to maintain your status or work towards a goal. Life often presents us with situations where it's almost too easy to slip up and eat some things we know we shouldn't.

One of the habits successful dieters observe is that they are able to bounce back from a diet mess-up immediately. There's no "Oh well, I've messed up once so I may as well stay off diet until next Monday rolls around". They may fall off every now and then, but they get back on the horse straight away.

You can’t gain weight from ONE bad meal

This is very important because it's practically impossible to gain weight from one bad meal. If you make a poor food choice, you're not going to be negatively affected by that. However making one bad choice that results in five days of unhealthy eating - that can make a difference to your progress.
