Tip: Fibre is your superhero

Possibly the greatest unsung hero of the war on bloated tummies is FIBRE. Fibre is responsible for making you feel full - which stops you from eating too much or too often - and for cleaning out the digestive tract so that food doesn't stay in your gut too long and go rancid (fats and oils) putrefied (animal products) or fermented (refined sugars). Gross!!!

Generally speaking, our diet is sorely lacking in fibre because of the level of refinement that our modern food undergoes, and because the average person eats so little fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains and legumes, nuts and seeds.

These are the sources of fibre you need to eat EVERY DAY if you wish to keep your insides clean and healthy and stay on track with your diet. The result of all this fibre is that your tummy flattens out because you won't be so bloated all the time and you won't be carrying around unnecessary food that should have been excreted. You'll also lose weight over time too, because you'll be eating less refined food and more healthy stuff.

What to eat?

Some great foods to eat if you feel like you're not getting enough fibre - you should aim for 30g per day - are: spinach, cabbage, corn, pumpkin, broccoli, potatoes, apples, oranges, bananas, pears, berries, wholegrains, lentils and beans. These are also all very tasty and healthy foods, so eating them should be easy.

Do it and you’ll see what a difference it makes!
