Stick to your workout routine with these easy tips

daily goal

Do you envy people who don’t miss a day of workout or are desperate to hit the gym the moment they have some leisure time?

Dedication and love for exercise may come naturally to some, while others need to take a lot of interest and motivate themselves to follow even the basic exercise routine.

When it comes to workouts or exercise, it’s simple. You need to continue it for a longer duration or make it a habit if you wish to achieve a goal. You do not need to be obsessed with workouts but incorporate them in moderation in your everyday life to reap the benefits of good health.

Here are some surefire tips to help you stay motivated:

Rise up early

Mornings are the best time for workouts. There are chances you will skip your exercise routine in the evenings if you’ve worked long hours or come home tired. But mornings make you feel energized and hence the chances of you skipping a workout reduces.

Set your alarm 15 minutes early than your usual time for 3 days, increase it to 30 minutes and then 45 minutes gradually. If you sleep late, go to bed 15 minutes early for few days, then 30 and 45 minutes early so that your body gets adequate rest.

Give it 2 months

Don’t get disappointed if you don’t see results within a week. That is not how your body works. Continue to follow an exercise routine religiously for a minimum of 2 months. Not only will you see results but exercise will become a habit even before you realize. Click here for tips to make exercise fun.

Select your type

Some people love jogging outside or in parks while some prefer the gym and machines. Then there are some who do not like the standard type of exercise routines. Choose what interests you – training in the gym, swimming, aerobics, Zumba – it could be anything. The exercise regime where you feel time flying away is your type. Once you start liking the routine, you will avoid skipping it. In fact, it’ll become a stress buster for you.

Pay for it

Try hiring a trainer or joining some classes. When you shell out money for exercise, you are bound to attend the classes or visit the gym. After all, making money isn’t easy and if you are paying for something, you must get your money’s worth. Do not consider these fees a waste of money. Remember, if you are fit and healthy you’ll be able to earn much more.

Also, a trainer will be like the school teacher who will ensure you follow the rules and do not skip a single day.

Workout in a group

We all need a support system. Working out with a partner or friend is always encouraging. Both of you or the entire group can ensure no one misses a single day of exercise. Besides, it’s a great way to socialize and unwind too. You will look forward to not just meeting friends but your exercise routine too.

Keep it convenient

Some people give up going to the park for a jog or the gym because it is far away from home or office. Look out for places that are conveniently located. Gymnasiums or clubs with locker facilities and hygienic bathrooms are a plus. You can keep a change of clothes with you always and squeeze in a workout during lunch hours or after work if you have missed your morning regimen.

Also, do not overdo on any single day because you missed a session. You will end up feeling sore for the next few days and this might discourage you from continuing further.

With a strong will and these motivating tips, you’ll be ready to make exercise a habit, thus embracing good health.
