How to Lose Weight Fast: Real Weight Loss vs. Water Loss

(An essential Key Element Everyone Should Know in Losing Weight Fast and Keeping it Off for Good)

There are many diets out there today claiming really fast weight loss, many claiming 10 pounds in less than 5 days, and on and on they go. So what is the reality of these diet plans? Is there really a diet plan where you can lose that much weight and actually keep it off? No, not that much weight. But don’t worry, there are ways to lose weight fast and actually keep it off. How does a pound a day sound?

Most of the really fast diet plans work simply because they require you to lower your calorie intake for a few days, and then most important of all, they’re usually associated with drastically reducing and usually completely eliminating your electrolyte intake, in other words, your salt intake. And when you reduce your salt intake, the result is lots of water loss.

To lose weight fast, we want to be able to lose fat too, not just water. Now, don’t get me wrong, a little water loss is okay, and when on any diet plan, you’ll usually lose a little bit of water along with the fat, especially if you’re adding exercise to the program. But, for instance, losing 10 pounds of water in 3 days is just plain ridiculous; it’s bad for your heart, your skin, and let’s face it, it’s very temporary weight loss. This is why when on any type of diet plan you need to drink water and include salt in your diet.

At the most basic level, electrolytes are salts. And so electrolytes (or salts) are involved in regulating the fluid balance of the body. In other words, it is one of the most important electrolytes in helping to keep you hydrated, along with some of the others such as potassium and magnesium. (Refer to my article: “How to Stop a Sugar Craving in its Tracks,” explaining the effects of a natural diet aid loaded with potassium).

On the other hand, too much salt increases the risk of health problems, including high blood pressure, and it can leave you feeling bloated, hence making you feel heavier than you really are. So you want to make sure you’re not getting too much sodium intake either.

So how do you lose weight fast without losing water? You need a diet plan that focuses on balancing your calorie/fat/carbohydrate/sodium and water intake so you end up losing real weight (fat not water). And there is a diet that does exactly that: The Guardian Angel Diet. Weight Loss results are approximately 15 pounds the first 2 weeks and about 5 to 7 pounds a week thereafter. I myself lost 60 pounds in 11 weeks. And guess what? I’ve managed to maintain my weight, give or take a few pounds, for those almost seven years now.

With this diet, you will be given a very easy-to-follow diet plan for 2 weeks at a time, with a week or two in between to teach you how to maintain the weight you’ve already lost while also giving you a chance to eat the foods you just love to eat and learning how to eat them in correct quantities. You’ll also be given more lenient guidelines for weekends, making this diet very practical for real-life people. You simply keep following this routine until you’ve reached your target weight. And since you’ve been taught how to maintain the weight you’ve lost throughout the program, you won’t feel stuck when it comes to keeping the weight off.

But whether you decide to pursue your weight loss goals with The Guardian Angel Diet or some other diet program, just remember to always keep yourself hydrated. Drink lots of water without completely eliminating your sodium intake. And if you’ve started a diet plan that doesn’t allow you any seasonings, get away from it, it’s only going to frustrate you in the long run. You’ll lose weight temporarily but gain it all back in a very short period of time. Once you’ve lost weight, the key to a successful diet is a realistic approach in keeping it off.
