The lack of calorie intake can lead to dieter running out of energy or the energized metabolic process may burn not only fats but body muscles as well. This is the reason for the protein and fiber diet, but for good measure the doctor also included in the diet program a three-day calorie period wherein the dieter is admonished to consume calorie laden foods.

Over-all the HCG program seems very well thought of with all possible problem areas well covered. The hormone energizes the metabolism, suppresses hunger fangs as well. The diet activates the hormone, detoxifies the body and allows the metabolism to concentrate on the accumulated body fats. Additionally, the program also preempted possible serious side-effects by integrating a three-day calorie load-up period.
