Where Did Your Motivation Go?

It's very easy to fall off the workout wagon. You were going strong for a while, exercising regularly and trying to eat healthy, and then all of a sudden, you stopped. But you can start again. All you have to do is get that motivation back. But how?

No matter what your reason for stopping was, these three tips will help you get back on track and start losing weight again.

1. Get on the scale.
You might not enjoy it, but weighting yourself every day at the same time is the best way to make sure that you are staying on track with your weight loss. Know that your body weight will fluctuate throughout the week, but if you write down each day's weight and then average them at the end of the week, you will have a pretty good idea of where you are. Measuring yourself every day is also a good idea, because it allows you to physically see the difference in your body after losing a little weight even if you don't realize it.

2. Surround yourself with motivational reminders.
Motivate yourself with physical reminders of pictures. Find pictures of what you want your body to look like after you've lost weight. Find as many as possible and then put them everywhere, especially on the fridge, but also in areas where you are usually tempted to snack. Posting them near the scale and also where you work out will help you to stay motivated as well. These pictures will serve as a constant physical reminder to put down the junk food and keep exercising.

3. Work out with a friend!
It is always a good idea to have a friend or two that will keep you accountable when you're trying to lose weight. You need someone to tell you to stay away from the potato chips and to exercise instead. If you can, find someone who will work out with you. Whether you go to the gym together or walk around the neighborhood together, having someone there to exercise with you will help you stay motivated and help to entertain you while you are exercising. Having a friend will cause you to work out when you plan to as well as help you push yourself to the limit. And of course, the best reason to work out with a friend is that you will always have someone to celebrate with as the pounds come off!
