One of the most common cravings during pregnancy is for pickles and ice cream. This is what we always hear about in the movies, and one that the majority of women notice that they want over the duration of their pregnancy.

There are various other cravings during pregnancy that you may notice as well and which are also completely normal.

Pickles and olives together is another strange combination that many women feel inclined to eat while they are pregnant. There is also cheese and dairy in general which women tend to crave, and this is not necessarily a bad craving because dairy can be healthy, but remember that too much and you could end up constipated. Constipation is already a very common symptom of pregnancy so you want to avoid eating too much dairy, especially cheese.

Another common craving during pregnancy is for peanut butter. This can be a signal for vitamin-B deficiency, so you may want to speak to your doctor if you notice that you are craving peanut butter constantly while you are pregnant.

Remember that it is really all a matter of not so much what you are craving but how often you are getting cravings for it.

When it comes to dealing with your common cravings during pregnancy, know that because your body is working overtime, it is only expected that you are going to have cravings of some sort. However, just as when you are not pregnant, you are going to have to make sure that you are aware of what you are eating and eating as healthily as possible.

You can give in to common cravings during pregnancy every now and again but if you give in to your cravings every time you are going to end up overweight and baby could be in danger.

There are lots of different ways to get your mind off it, things that you can do to avoid the urges to give in to these cravings. Going for a walk or hanging out with other people and keeping yourself from being alone is probably one of the best things to do.
