If you are thinking of losing fat with a prepared meals diet, you may want to rethink your options.  Sure, convenience is nice, but doing things that way doesn't really teach you how to eat and keep the weight off in the long term.  Here are 3 of the downsides you may not have known about a prepared meals diet.

 

1. They are Too High in Carbs

 

One of the best things you can do to lose fat is to cut your carbohydrate intake.  The thing is, carbs are tasty, and the companies that make your prepared meals diet want to keep the food tasting good so you keep buying!

 

Only when you cook on your own and make healthy meals that accommodate your diet can you be sure that you have the carbs low enough and the protein and healthy fats at the right level.  Don't get lazy with a prepared meals diet!

 

2. They are Way Too Expensive

 

A prepared meals diet, while convenient, costs way too much to justify the cost!  Sure, you might lose some fat while on it, but what happens when you've lost the weight?  It's not like your schedule will magically change, and you'll be right back to square one once you go back to your normal way of eating.

 

3. They Don't Encourage Good Habits

 

Even if you want to achieve quick fat loss, you're going to have to learn to eat and exercise well in order to keep the weight off.  A prepared meals diet is too convenient and easy, and you will end up not developing any healthy habits.  It's not like you need to change your whole life to accommodate your new way of eating, but you do need to allow some room in your schedule for healthy cooking!
