Do Natural Diet Pills Like Extreme Acai Berry Really Work?

If you’ve been reading diet supplement reviews online recently, then you’re probably well aware of the extreme popularity of acai berry diet pills. There are numerous sites that are selling these pills as some kind of wonder drug for weight loss.

But, is it really?

I decided to look into the claims and answer the question . . .

Does the acai berry really work to melt fat?

First, a little background on the acai berry (ah-sigh-EE). It has its origins in the Brazilian rain forest. Native Brazilians often harvest and use the acai berry just like we use fresh berries here. They sprinkle it on their breakfast cereal or make a drink out of it The locals consider it a health food and claim it has numerous healing benefits.

After some scientific study, the acai berry does contain antioxidants. However, The power of these antioxidants is considered less than what can be found in common fruits like blueberries, cherries and concord grapes. So, why is it so hyped up as being the new superfood that can cure everything from cancer to baldness?

The simple answer is money.

Those who market such products like the extreme acai berry diet pills don’t really care if it works or not. They’re more concerned about getting your credit card information than helping you to lose weight.

While there doesn’t seem to be any serious side effects to taking the acai berry supplements (that we know of yet), there is a growing concern by government agencies and individuals that this humble berry is being used to scam people.

Because the acai berry is being heavily promoted as a miracle diet pill, many people are prone to believing these claims because acai is considered natural. While those same people would shy away from taking chemically enhanced pills, they have no problem with trying natural diet pills.

In actuality, the amount of active acai berry that consumers are getting in any one bottle of pills is debatable. There’s no regulation on these pills, and the truth is, these berries have a short shelf life. Once harvested, they must be processed quickly in order to preserve their potency. The people getting the most benefit from acai berries are Brazilians, who get to eat them fresh.

Once the berry is processed and turned into powder, it loses a lot of the healthy benefits that people are looking to enjoy. Also, the U.S. Center for Science in the Public Interest says that there’s no scientific evidence that acai berries, or supplements, contribute to weight loss.

If you do a quick Google search, you’ll find plenty of people who are sorry they trusted these websites and acai diet pill manufacturers with their hard earned money. People are being scammed left and right by companies selling these pills on a “free trial” basis.

It turns out, that the free trial isn’t so free after all. When you type in your personal and credit card information, you are giving these people a quick way to gain access to your funds.

You will be charged for shipping and handling like they state. But, the real fun comes when you get your credit card statement and realize you’ve been billed $79 for that bottle of miracle diet pills. Suddenly, this whole acai berry thing doesn’t sound so good.

Not only that, but these companies will keep billing your card each month, until you finally get your bank to put a stop to it. Many people have had to cancel their cards all together in order to stop these scammers.

So, I recommend that if you’re really interested in trying out acai berry diet pills, go to your local drugstore, or health food store, and pick up a bottle. You can test them out without losing large sums of money. I have a feeling, though, that you won’t get much benefit from them.

Instead, I think you should head on over to your local supermarket and pick up some fresh or frozen blueberries, grapes, cherries, raspberries and strawberries. Eat them with your breakfast or enjoy them as a healthy snack. You’ll save money and gain lots of easy health benefits this way. Oh yeah, and if you’re ever in Brazil, you may want to try some fresh acai berries to see what all the fuss is about.
