Its very normal to gain significant amounts of weight while you are pregnant. During pregnancy your body goes though a lot of changes which means your hormones and lot of the inner functions that regulate your body is in a totally different mode. Hormones that control and regulate your body weight is particularly affected – and it's a good thing as it keeps you and your unborn baby healthy. The problem for most new moms however is losing weight after pregnancy.  

Although there are many physiological reasons why losing eight is tough after a pregnancy, the real challenges are much simpler. Here are the 3 biggest reasons why women struggle with losing baby fat.

1. Eating Habits
During your pregnancy you had a full 9 months of developing new eating habits. Most of them are okay when eating for two, but now its time to go back to a normal eating routine and this can be difficult. Like breaking any habit, you will have to start weaning yourself off those foods that you know you can no longer eat in access.

2. Postponing It
One of the biggest mistakes new moms make is to put off losing their baby fat for too long. Its vital that you start an exercise routine as soon as possible. The longer you leave it and the longer you put it off the harder it gets. Women who quickly lose all their pregnancy weight are those that start losing it immediately after the pregnancy.

3. Finding Time
The biggest barrier to losing your pregnancy weight is finding the time to exercise. A newborn can be a lot of work and take a lot of your time. Juggling between work and a family hardly leaves any time for yourself. Finding time for exercise is crucial. Try and arrange a fixed time every day to have your partner mind the baby while you get your exercise. Its important to fix this time slot and make it a habit.

All three these factors feed into each other and when you start working on it you will quickly see progress and start losing your baby fat. Exercise and healthy eating is vitally important and if you can find the time to do it, the rest is easy.
