Low Carb Diet Snacks – 3 of the Best Low Carb Diet Snacks

If you're going on a low carb diet, you may be wondering what foods are still okay to eat.  Starches and sugars are so pervasive in our diets that it can be hard to figure out tasty, nutritious low-carb foods!  Here are 3 of the best low carb diet snacks.

 

1. Beef Jerky

 

You may have heard beef jerky talked about as a junk food, but depending on the brand, it can actually be one of the beset low carb diet snacks!  Just make sure you look for a brand that is low in sugar – some companies add it to change the flavor.

 

If you have a way of smoking your own meats, you can also make your own beef jerky and other low carb diet snacks.  If you do, just make sure you don't add any carbs.  As long as the snack is high in protein and moderate in fat content, you're good to go.

 

2. Avocados

 

Most people think of avocados as a side dish or ingredient of a larger meal, but they can also be great low carb diet snacks!  Simply add some salt and pepper to one, or eat it with a salad made of green veggies for a snack that is rich in vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats.

 

3. Broccoli

 

This may seem weird as a suggestion for low carb diet snacks, but broccoli and other green veggies are great to snack on when you can't afford to eat extra calories outside your normal meals.  The fiber will help keep you full until your next real meal, and there are almost zero net carbs!
