The Diet Solution program is a non-diet weight loss program created by nutritionist Isabel De Los Rios. I say that this is a non-diet program because there is no specific, one way is better than all the rest, plan here for you to follow. The Diet Solution program is built differently, in a more general way than other programs. It's not a structured plan but an overall nutrition manual. The program begins by helping you determine your metabolic type. What Isabel De Los Rios teaches is that one of the main reasons why some diets work for some people and not for others is that each of us is made differently. We react in a different way to food. Each of us has one of 3 metabolic types: protein, carb, or mixed type.

A protein type person will not do as well as a carb person on some diets and the other way around. You need to first find your own type and than create your eating plan. This way you create a more personal, targeted, and accurate eating plan for you to follow, one with a much greater chance of success.

Naturally, these 3 metabolic types are general as well. Each of us is unique to some extent. However, this division does help to eliminate those foods that may be good to one metabolic type but not your own. No more blind dieting.

Other than that, Isabel De Los Rios exposes some nasty nutritional myths that you may not be aware of. Even I was surprised to discover that many food items which I thought were good are in fact bad for our health and our waistline. One example is soy which gets its own chapter in the book and is shown to be far from the healthy food that most people believe it to be. This is what I mean by an overall health program.
