1. Always be prepared:

This is very important. You must make very sure that you are always prepared and have the correct food at hand. Do you shopping with your diet in mind. Make sure you do not fall into the trap of buying "illegal" food as you can be very sure you will eat it!

To avoid falling into the trap of eating fast food, make sure you pack a tasty and healthy lunch to take to work or school. Most of the packing can be done the previous evening, the lunch box kept in the refrigerator, ready for you even if you are in a rush.

2. Never let yourself get too hungry:

Letting yourself get too hungry is a sure way to make you overeat at your next meal. Make sure that you have healthy, low calorie, snacks available to eat between meals. Eating six small meals a day will be far better than trying to stick to three meals a day.

3. Beware of fruit juice:

This is a trap you can very easily fall in. We all know that fruit juice is healthy, but it is also crawling with calories. On top of that, it is not very filling and you will feel hungry again very soon.

Eating fruit is a far better idea and you can eat up to three small portions of fruit a day. Fruit is more filling and your body can do with the added fiber. So, for an in between meals snack, fruit is a very good idea.

4. Never go shopping when you are hungry:

If you go shopping when you are hungry, you are far more likely to buy "junk" food and pre-prepared food that is also crawling with fat and calories. Always make sure that you eat a healthy snack before you go shopping and you will find it easier to stick to your shopping list.

5.  Do not eat too little:

By eating too little you are slowing down your body's metabolism. Sure, you will lose lots of weight the first few days, but then you will start finding it more and more difficult to lose weight. To make things even worse, you will probably gain all that weight back ones you stop your diet.

Go for a healthy balanced diet. It may take a little longer to reach your goal, but you will find that the pounds stay off. To speed up the slimming process it is far better to burn some fat with moderate exercise
