Fast Post Workout Recovery Techniques

Becoming leaner and fitter is not just about working out more, it's also about giving your body the time it needs to recover. When you workout, you are breaking down muscle tissue, depleting energy stores, placing tension on bones and joints. Your body needs the right kind of rest to recover from that. In doing so, it become stronger with firmer and more toned muscles.

If you don't allow you body to recover you're risking injury, reduced performance, fatigue, and other nasty side-effects.

To be able to achieve the best post workout recovery you can and allow yourself to train more often, and harder, here are some techniques you should use:

1. Never train the same muscle group day after day. To allow your muscles time to grow and heal properly, you need to give them 24-72 hours of rest between each strength training session. If you do not, you may delay your growth and impair your strength and actual physical ability.

2. Take a hot bath - This is a great way to ease your muscles, prevent soreness, and relax. Taking a bath after a workout is a great way to speed up post exercise recovery.

3. Drink more fluids - By fluids I mean water or fresh fruit juices. I don't use any post workout recovery drinks myself, though some do. Drinking more water replenishes lost fluids and helps to clear away some of the wasta material that accumulate near or in your muscle tissue during your workouts.

4. Sleep longer hours - You actually get most of your muscle growth when you sleep. Just give yourself a few extra hours each week, particularly on the night after a workout and you will recover much faster.

Workout recovery is crucial to your results. Use these tips and you shall succeed.
