Losing Weight With Phentermine
Those of us who are obese will find it very frustrating, especially the stomach. To lose weight there are many drugs that are available in the market that promises to lessen your weight in few days time. However, one drug that has hit the headline is Phentermine.

Phentermine has been approved by the FDA in 1959 as one of the best drug for suppressing appetite. It is widely used since its availability in the market for suppressing the hunger and losing weight among the obese patients. The way this prescription drug acts is by stimulating the bundle of neurons and release catecholamine, which is a special group of neurotransmitter. These comprise the dopamine, norepeinephrine as well as epinephrine. Catecholamine works by exciting the sympathetic nervous system with a fight or flight response. This leads to suppress the hunger signal that results in the suppression of the hunger.

Phentermine works best if accompanied by right diet and exercise. One of the best diet plans is to take 6 meals every day that include the 12 powerful foods as the main items in the diet. One should take the six meals in small quantities throughout the whole day. This way our energy intake is maintained.

Normally, a person eats 2 to 3 good sized meals in the whole day. However, we eat a lot more calories than what our body needs. This results in actually slowing our metabolism. But, if smaller meals are eaten along with snacking in between them, the body gets only few extra calories. This helps the metabolism to work at the optimum level as the calories and fat are burned.

The use of Phentermine makes the body to lose 10 to 15 percent of body weight. One has to take the drug once a day for a period of 3 to 4 weeks. One should take Phentermine before breakfast or after 1 to 2 hour after breakfast. However, the drug must not be taken after 3 pm, as there are chances of insomnia.

Phentermine is not recommended for people who are taking dexfenfluramine, furazolidone, guanethidine or furazolidone. It must not also be used if one is taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor for the last 14 days. Pregnant and lactating women should also not use Phentermine. The drug is not recommended for people who have high blood pressure or diseases of the heart or blood vessel. It is also not recommended to use the drug for those with overactive thyroid as well as those with very narrow blood vessels.

There could be some people who are allergic to some of the ingredients in Phentermine. The drug may cause tachycardia or increase in heart rate in some persons. However, it is much less than that caused by amphetamines. Catecholamine has been found sometimes to cause over release of adrenaline and noradrenaline. Some other symptoms seen in the use of Phentermine include dry mouth, diarrhea, insomnia, constipation and restlessness.
There are many research and clinical trials over the use of Phentermine and the result have proved its high effectiveness.
