Weight Loss or trying to lose weight cannot and should not be achieved in a few days. Rapid Weight Loss and even rapid weight gain are harmful for the body and the human body cannot cope with the sudden impact of rapid weight gain or weight loss. Many overweight people start on a weight loss program on an impulse or just get up from bed one day and decide to lose weight without understanding the causes of being overweight or the effects of losing weight.

Every individual thinking about Weight Loss should first analyze the cause of weight gain. In some cases, weight gain is due to medical reasons and individual metabolism, while in others it could be over eating or indulging in oily and fatty foods like burgers and fries, cakes and chocolates, etc. A sedentary life style where most of the working hours are spent on a chair in the office and with little or no exercise, along with eating junk food, also lead to gaining weight. Many people also gain weight in old age or after retirement due to the fact that they have become inactive or are leading a less hectic and active life, but still eating as they were.

An individual should analyze the cause of weight gain according to their lifestyle, eating habits, etc, and then think about a Weight loss program or regime. Every individual on this planet is unique and so are the causes and effects of weight gain and weight loss. There is no 揙ne size fits all?or 揙ne Pill for all ills?in losing weight. A Weight Loss Program or regime may work for one or even many individuals, but may fail for others. A rapid weight loss program or regime could work for some individuals, but fails in most cases. Some teenagers and individuals starve themselves and start on a crash diet in the hope that they can lose weight quickly. This in fact may lead to serious medical problems.

What an individual should do is analyze their eating habits and gradually replace the unhealthy foods like burgers and fries, cakes, bread, chocolates, pizzas, with healthier food like fruits, vegetables, and soups. In the early days of a weight loss regime, they can reduce the amount of unhealthy food over a period of days or weeks and gradually replace them with healthier food. Starving or avoiding food to lose weight rapidly should be avoided at all costs. Along with the change in food and eating habits, the individual should also exercise regularly, or at least walk a few miles everyday. Analysis of the effects of the weight loss regime should be done every week or fortnight and changes should be made until the individual achieves a right mix of healthy food and exercise.

A Weight Loss program or regime can last for a period of weeks or months depending on the individuals weight and the amount of weight to lose. But however much time it takes, once a proper weight has been achieved, the individual should stick to the weight loss regime and not abandon it, or it they will go back to gaining weight again.
