For example, if you suddenly have a strong desire for sweets, instead of picking up a donut and eating it down, reach for fruit or hard candy such as a butterscotch instead. Eat more often: Dieters often find themselves in trouble when they don't eat soon enough. When hunger pain strikes, it is very difficult to eat something healthy if only junk food is available. Stay away from creamy soups. They are often fattening.
Drink plenty of water: Sometimes we are really not hungry when our stomachs growl but thirsty. When you start to get hungry and the cravings start, drink a glass of water. This will help avoid eating to satisfy your hunger.
Figure out why you are eating: This tip deals with the mental component of eating too much. If your eating has gotten out of control and you find yourself constantly consuming foods that you know aren't good for you and are leading you to gain weight, it is time to figure out why. Once you are able to figure this out, you will be better able to come up with a game plan to turn things around.
