Have You Ever Thought About a 7 Day Weight Loss Diet? Here's Why You Shouldn't

Specialists will be the first to admit that 7 day diets and quick fixes are not the way to long-term weight management. But what if you need to lose weight as fast as possible to look good for next week’s party? You desperately want to fit into that suit you’ve been eyeing for days.

If you need to attend such an event, then I would even go so far as to say: “go for it”. Do dieticians and fitness trainers have enough reasons not to recommend it? Take these facts into consideration when the moment arises when you need to make such a decision.

Your Body Learns to Burn Fat Slower and Slower

Let’s say you decide to go on a quick fix weight loss plan such as the 7 day diet plan. It then tells you to eat approximately 1000 calories per day. It’s not recommended to eat that amount of calories. It’s simply not enough. You are then teaching your metabolsim to burn that amount of calories. Your metabolism adapts to your lifestyle even in just a few days. A human body is actually so awesome. It goes into “survival mode” where it starts to reserve as much resources as possible.

Your body will still run as normal for the first few days and burn 2500 calories according to your normal diet. Therefore you’ll lose weight. But when it senses the dramatic drop in food consumption, it shifts to that survival mode.

What happens after the 7 day diet? You continue with your normal diet where your calorie intake is around 2500. In the previous 7 days you’ve trained your body to burn only 1050 calories per day. Therefore your body will take a few days to adapt to your old routine again. You’ll gain more weight than you’ve lost because your body will take longer to adapt than before.

Conclusion

The 7 day diet is not all that bad. It helps to clean your body and get all those toxins out. I don’t recommend following it if your main goal is to lose weight. Rather speak to your doctor so that he can recommend a long-term plan for sustained weight loss and overall health. If you must go to that wedding or reunion then you might be willing to take the fall. Just remember that you won’t be able to jump back to your old eating habits.

Peter W.L. Owen found this fast weight loss program that has altered the way men and women think about diet. Or you can follow the seven day weight loss program.
