Burn Fat, Build Muscle Don’t #1 – Extreme Diets are Extremely Bad

Don’t be fooled by the newest weight loss plans. All assert that they have the best way of helping you to burn fat, build muscle, and lose weight. This is great for public relations and media hype, but it is not good for you living a healthy life. Several of these diets will help you to lose weight temporarily, but they are completely unsustainable. I have many friends who have lost a great deal of weight doing a low or no carb diet. But do you know what happened when they stopped the diet? They gained back all of the weight, and often even more.

Burn Fat, Build Muscle Do #1 – Do Eat a Healthy, Balanced Diet

To burn fat, build muscle, and get the lean body that you want, you need to make sure that you are eating right. You need to get plenty of proteins and plenty of fiber, but make sure to avoid processed foods (the hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, and artificial trans fats in most processed foods are a definite diet killer). Carbohydrates are , as long as you balance them with fiber. This means that fruits and vegetables are great, but stay away from fruit juices.

Burn Fat, Build Muscle Don’t #2 – Don’t Just Do Cardio

Despite all that you hear, cardio is not the most efficient way to start burning fat and building muscle. If you want a lean, tone body, cardio is a waste of time. 30 to 40 minutes 3 days a week on a treadmill may burn a few calories, but it will not change your metabolism or your body’s hormonal response to exercise.

Burn Fat, Build Muscle Do #2 – Intensity Is Key

A higher intensity interval training program is significantly more efficient if you feel a need to burn fat, build muscle, and look great. Your heart needs training at differing levels to help it to handle the stresses that life is sure to deliver, and interval training provides this.

Burn Fat, Build Muscle Don’t #3 – Lay Off The Capsules

If a diet program talks about diet pills, run! In effect all (I say nearly because it is possible that there is a good one on the marker, but I don’t know of any) diet capsules are not a good idea. Just like there is no true get rich quick scheme, there is no lose weight quick pill. Just trust me on this one, steer clear!

Burn Fat, Build Muscle Do #3 – Do Be Disciplined and Stick With It

Like anything else, if you want to succeed and start to burn fat, build muscle, and look great, effort is required. Select a weight loss program and don’t quit. If it is a good program, it will not promise rapid results, and you should not want them. Stick with the program and as your diet and exercise become lasting, your fat loss will expedite as well.
