Weight Loss Diet - Lose Weight Fast Before the Holidays Arrive!

Need to lose weight before the holidays? Want to fit into that awesome outfit you saw in the store but not sure how to do it? Only have 4 weeks to get ready for the first party of the holiday season and you are feeling a little bit heavy? Well here are some great tips and tricks on how to lose the pounds and inches fast!

1: Drink plenty of water!

Yes, I know it will be hard to stay away from those sodas, but you have got to do it. If you feel hungry between meals then down a glass of water. It will keep you hydrated and help you to stave off hunger. Avoid drinking sodas and fruit drinks throughout the day. Limit your fruit juices to one glass at breakfast.

2: Eat regularly, small portions and often.

You need to keep your metabolism high and your body in fat burning mode. If you believe that eating one big meal a day will help you to lose weight, think again. You need to make your body think you have plenty of food, not that you are starving. Take small snacks to work such as cut vegetables and fruits (celery, carrots, broccoli spears, apple slices, oranges, nuts etc). Limit these to one handful or one cup. Be sure to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make breakfast your biggest (most caloric) meal with lunch and dinner being less. This gives you maximum time throughout the day to burn calories!

3: Exercise daily.

As long as you can take a brisk 20 min to 40 minute walk each day, you will lose weight and feel better about yourself. Study after study has shown that daily walks lasting up to 40 minutes burn as many calories as running the same amount of time and is less likely to cause injury.

4: Take your lunch to work.

You are less likely to eat unhealthily if you make your lunch and take it to work. If you bring a sack lunch to work, you will be less inclined to overeat since you will only have what you brought. Restaurants portion sizes are way more than you need. If you don’t have time in the morning to make it, then make it the night before. Plus you will save yourself at least $6-10 per day by not eating out!

5: Get plenty of rest.

You need to get adequate sleep at night in order for your body to repair cells and burn calories. Lack of adequate rest can keep your body from operating efficiently and hamper your efforts at burning calories. So get to sleep early!

6: Avoid unneeded temptations.

Do you love your specialty coffee drink with all the extras in it during the morning? Well, why not go black coffee Monday thru Thursday and specialty drink Friday. You will save yourself hundreds if not thousands of unnecessary calories throughout the week!

7: Indulge once in a while.

If you eat well all week, then let yourself have that piece of pie/cake/ice-cream on Saturday or Sunday. Studies have shown that you are more likely to stay on your diet than not if you at lease indulge once in a while. Don’t feel guilty, just don’t over do it!

8: Stay committed to your goal.

Remind yourself daily about what you are trying to accomplish. Set the goal and work towards it. Don’t give up. Rome was not built in a day and neither was your weight gain. It takes steps at a time to lose weight so remind yourself that every day you work at it, is one day closer to losing 5/10/15 pounds!
