"Metabolic Zone Diets" is the term I coined for diets that have been optimized for the body to burn fat faster, that is, your metabolism burn fat as the nutrients from the food you eat are digested.
This term is based on a weight loss book called "Enter The Zone" by Barry Sears, PHD, where he referred to "the zone as a place where, we feel ourselves alert, refreshed, full of energy and that living life in the zone is what wellness is all about." This zone is basically where we see ourselves at the end of any weight loss plan. Everybody has an underlying reason to lose weight, but after achieving the goals that were set in place, we always feel better and confident about ourselves and that's how life in "the zone" is.

First of all, your metabolism is the way your body breaks down nutrients to produce energy and the speed or rate at which it is done, slows down with age.
