Weight Loss Pills

The best weight loss pills are those that assist your daily workout routine or help nourish muscles after weight training. Sadly, there is no such thing as a “magic” diet pill that will trim pounds or create muscle without effort. Even illegal or controversial substances, such as anabolic steroids, ephedrine, or human growth hormone, do not cause you to lose weight or gain muscle without strenuous workouts and effort.

The market for dietary supplements and nutritional pills has become clogged with false claims by manufacturers seeking to take advantage of naïve consumers. At best, a diet pill can create a metabolic reaction that rids your body of 1-2 pounds per month. Usually, this weight is represented by water in your body, not body fat. When you stop taking the pill and return to healthy hydration levels, you regain the weight.

So-called fat blockers and carbohydrate blockers are also nothing more than proverbial health supplement snake oil. Fat blockers do not prevent your body from absorbing fat and carb blockers do nothing to prevent the changing of your body’s glycemic reactions. They, too, fall under the claims of being the “best weight loss pills” that do nothing to help weight loss.

In addition, many of the pills and supplements you may find that make claims to weight loss also do not have approval by the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Because the pills are made of a hosh-posh of plants, minerals, and other materials already deemed safe for human consumption, they do not fall within regulatory guidelines. In the cases of ephedrine and other “miracle” weight loss pills, severe injury and death was incurred as a result.

Besides risking your health and wasting your money, diet pills can also be dangerous for teenagers and desperate family members. Infomercials and rampant magazine advertisement have spread the false claims of diet pills throughout the media. They prey on the insecurities of potential users and pass off suspicious “clinical trials” as scientific evidence their pills work to inspire weight loss. Without federal approval or independent studies, these weight loss pills are just as ineffective as their less-marketed counterparts. Do not be fooled by everything you see on the television set, no matter how convincing it may be.

Instead, take the time to invest in changing the two surefire methods for losing weight: diet and exercise. If you must take some form of supplement or pill to enhance your chances of weight loss, the best weight loss pills include protein supplements, vitamin supplements, and amino acid constructs. These supplements are safe, effective, and help to form your bodies muscle so you will look slimmer after each pound you shed.

Do not be fooled by the false claims of diet and weight loss pill manufacturers. Until the “magic pill” comes along (and rest assured it will be very popular once it is conceived and proven effective), we all must take the traditional routes to physical fitness. Hard work and perseverance, sadly, do not come in pill form.
