Diet And Exercise For Weight Loss

Moving up the company ladder doesn't imply the physical aspect of actually "climbing". In fact, quite the opposite really, which is where I found myself, sitting at a desk more and more.

I arrived at my 40's quite fit and more consumed with work and slowly become less and less active. A couple years later, starting a family, I become less active yet. Work aside, it seemed that taking it easy at home became the ritual and my old active lifestyle, a fleeting memory. With less sleep at night and the energy-sapping nature of raising kids, it's not like I had a heap of gusto to workout or cycle up mountains like I'd used to anyway. Worse, my lazy habits became easier.

I eventually got my act together after putting on over 20 lbs in the months after our first child but a while after child #2, I found myself overweight yet again and along with my over-indulgence over Christmas... It wasn't that I ate a lot of sweets or junk over the holidays, just a lot of food, and, of course, not enough exercise to burn it off. Twenty pounds might not sound like much weight but when your ideal weight is 150 lbs, it's a bit much. I can't really say when I noticed having a "belly". It wasn't until I saw an old picture of myself that I realized how much I'd gained. That made an immediate impression on me and got me thinking about getting back into shape.

Working out didn't go too well. I'd injure myself constantly or maybe just once and it kept re-occurring. At any rate, my lower back was continually giving me grief. My core had gotten weak. So my plan of action changed. I needed to lose weight.

That's when I came across Strip That Fat. It's a diet plan that is easy to implement. Best of all I got to eat all my favorite foods. So with strip that fat and core strengthening exercises (mainly pilates), followed, after a couple weeks, by some cycling, I was able to lose my big belly and become stronger. The nicest result of this process is that I am no longer so injury prone, which is important when playing around with my two little monkeys (read: daughters 2 and 4).

Hello. My name is Bill and I'm a 40-something Dad, head over heels in love with my family. (40+ years old, not a Dad of 40-something kids.) After a parental-leave from work I decided I wanted to stay home and try to work a little and play a lot.
