Transform My Body - First Critical Step

So you are at that point in your life when you have decided, I desperately need to transform my body but, Man, where do I start. You take a look in your closet at all the decorations hanging up. We can call them decorations at this point because really, what else are they good for. It’s not like they actually fit anymore. But still you procrastinate and ponder the question of how to transform my body.

So right away you start a blazing trail of stripping the fat from your body. Well, not quite just yet. There is still one more phase to go through. You take a look in the mirror, no one else is home of course, and grab a handful of love handles, gut, thermal insulation or whatever term you want to use. But we know what it is. Pure fat. So you’re standing there looking at a handful of fat and it’s looking back at you. Right then and there you decide I have got to do something.

First Critical Step

Now I’ll be the first to admit there are many steps involved in a body makeover but, I believe the first and foremost critical step is knowing you can transform your body. This is a critical and distinct mindset.

Knowing you can is a little bit more productive than believing you can or hoping you can or even thinking you can. Knowing is definite. Napoleon Hill illustrates this very thing in many of his famous works. If any of you are familiar with his accomplishments, you know that most dealt with achieving goals and financial wealth building. But, it does not take much of a leap to see that they go beyond that and can be applied to so many other areas of our lives. I drew great inspirations from some of his ideas on goals, decisions, imagination, procrastination, organized planning, persistence and so many more.

If you have not had the pleasures of reading some of his works, then do yourself a favor and do a little internet search for him and expose yourself to some great inspirations.

Ok, you are ready to get started. You have the proper mindset. Check! You are ready to attack this beast full steam ahead on err… first thing Monday morning. Really? How has that worked for you so far? Everybody starts their quest to be physically fit starting tomorrow or Monday or how about this one… after the holidays. You know what? The very next holiday season they say the same thing. After the holidays.

If I impart nothing else I hope I can relay the importance of making the decision to start moving forward now. Make small changes if that is all you can do today right now. I know you need things like healthier groceries, new workout clothes, the latest running shoes, dvds, supplements or whatever. Those things are fine and dandy if you want them. But that does not mean you can’t start now with what you do have. Next week you will still need those things but if you start now you might be a few pounds closer to your goal when you get them.

Unless you have been living under a rock, you already know some of the obvious small changes you can make.

• Drop the sugar beverages and drink plenty water, all day

• Don’t skip meals

• Smaller portions

• Brown over white (bread, pasta, etc.)

• Reduce rather than eliminate the foods you like

• Gradually make changes

• Get moving (walk or bike for short trips to store, friends, etc)

Building a better body should incorporate strength training, cardio, healthy nutrition, and possibly proper supplementations. The above listed items are just some of the small changes you can make today while you prepare for the bigger life changing changes to come. We are going to do a lot more. This is just a small start to get going in the right direction.

Hopefully I have conveyed the first and foremost critical step in transforming your body and pursuing a healthier you is knowing you can. There are many things along the way you will need or that will assist you with this goal but, first things first.

When I decided to transform my body today, I did so without ever looking back. I am much happier that I did.
