Healthy Quick Meals With Smoothie Drinks - Part 3/3

In this last edition of Healthy Quick Meals With Smoothies, I have posted some additional ideas for smoothie drinks, where the main emphasis is on breakfast-time and fruity-refreshing drinks. It can really start up the day for you if you try to make one of them. It gives you the necessary daily strength and energy.

  • DRINK 4 - Refreshing and Stimulus Breakfast Smoothie

You will need 50 gram of soft tofu, 1 apple (100 g), 1 tablespoon of chopped almonds, 2 dl of rice milk, 1 tablespoon of powdered guarana, a few drops of vanilla flavoring.

Guarana contains substances that stimulate the central nervous system, accelerates the degradation of fat, blood circulation and acts as a diuretic (that means that it stimulates the elimination of waste substances from your body). Because of its characteristics, guarana is mostly used when we like to boost our body endurance, mind concentration and when we are dieting. It contain natural slow-release stimulants: caffeine (also called guaranine), theophylline and theobromine.

Tofu or soy cheese is a low-calorie, easily digestible and high-nutritious protein food, which also contains some life important amino acids and natural protective substances. The best thing about tofu is, that it does not contain any cholesterol. It is also the source of calcium, contains valuable vitamin B and iron. 100 grams of tofu has only 117 calories, 12.2 grams of protein, 1.1 gram of carbohydrate and 7.1 grams of unsaturated fats. Since it has no specific taste, you can prepare or add it to different foods.

Rice milk does not contain any lactose and cholesterol. 100 ml of rice milk has 64 calories, 0.2 grams of proteins, 13.3 grams of carbohydrates and a gram of fat.

  • DRINK 5 - Fruit Yoghurt Drink

Ingredients for this drink are not so hard to get. You need 250 grams of natural probiotic yogurt,  half apple, half pear, 2 tablespoons of pumpkin seeds, a large pinch of powder cinnamon and in the times of summer heats, you can also add an ice cube in the drink. Energy value is estimated around 280 kcal.

Plain yogurt is made from pasteurized milk and contains a variety of lactic acid bacteria that have a beneficial effect on the intestinal microflora. It contains plenty of calcium and vitamin B. In 100 ml of yogurt, there is 45 calories, 3.3 grams of proteins, 4.9 grams of carbohydrates and 1.3 grams of fat.

Cinnamon is a spice that contain many antioxidants and essential oils, and has a number of beneficial effects on the organism. It has a beneficial effect on digestion, it also reduces the percentage of sugar, fat and cholesterol in the blood, increases appetite, improves circulation, alleviates menstrual cramps and joint pains, and it cleans the oral cavity.

  • DRINK 6 - Smoothie with Healthy Fats, High Fiber and Calcium.

To make this drink, you need one green (sour) apple, half avocado, 2 dl of skimmed cow's milk, a pinch of fresh grated ginger and one tablespoon of lemon juice. An energy value of such nutritious drink is 300 kcal.

Ginger is a spice, that is keen to promote a blood circulation, eases intestinal cramping, constipation and bloating as well.

Avocados are rich in vitamin E (approximately 3 mg per 100 g). It is also rich in unsaturated fats and mineral substances (such as potassium, magnesium and iron). We like to call it The Fruit for Mental Efforts. If your mood often fluctuates between fatigue and irritability, avocados are an excellent choice for  battling it, because it contains a special carbohydrate (called mannoheptulose), which, unlike other carbohydrates, does not promote insulin secretion. Therefore, glucose levels will not rise too much and the nervous system receives more glucose, which is their only food. In 100 grams of avocado, there are 105 calories, 1.1 grams of proteins, 8.1 grams of fat and 8.0 grams of carbohydrates.

  • DRINK 7 - Grain Breakfast Shake

This is some sort of a condensed potion that will make you satiated and filled with energy. For preparation, you have to blend 250 ml of skimmed milk, half cup of different kind of cereals, one banana, a pinch of powder cinnamon and 4 strawberries. Energy value: 350 kcal.

Different cereals (oats, rye, barley, etc.) are excellent source of complex carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals and fiber. You also need a little unsaturated fat to provide a constant source of energy. Do enjoy whole grains, which give a nice and light feeling of satiety.

This is all for now. I hope you will enjoy some of these delicious and healthy drinks. All you need is a little time and a good smoothie blender or machine, so that you won't waste time with a bar blender. If you are lazy in the morning, I recommend to make yourself a smoothie a day before, so that you won't lose precious time in the morning when going to work. What I would also recommend is that you try every one of the above mentioned seven drinks, so that you could understand why I opted out the certain ingredients. Maybe you will feel different or not, the most important thing is that your muscles, your nervous system and organs get what they need and deserve.
