Shed Holiday Fat - Hows It Going?

Shed Holiday Fat - How\'s it Going?

Did you put on pounds over the holidays? Did you resolve to just enjoy yourself this year, but once the holidays were over you would shed holiday fat? So, how are you doing with that? Shedding the pounds gained over the holidays is not as easy as it was to gain them! Have you found that out?

Unfortunately many that desire to shed holiday fat give up after a few weeks. A few extra pounds over the years, plus other unplanned weight gain, and before you know it you are in the class of obese: thirty or more pounds overweight.

Franz is passionate about optimal health and nutrition! He used to have to shed holiday fat too, until he realized that it was easier not to gain the weight in the first place. Once he understood what poor food choices did to his body, he could no longer eat those kinds of foods. They were just not appealing anymore. It's like knowing that if you smoke a cigarette that you are cutting ten minutes off your life. Why would you do that? It's the same with over processed and chemical laden food.

But, back to how to shed holiday fat. Start today by making one simple change. Lets say you cut out all calorie-laden beverages and just drink water. Black coffee in the morning is okay, but stick to water for everything else. Drink half your weight in ounces each day. You will hydrate yourself and might even add a little detox action. Do this for a week and see how you feel. You may even notice a pound of weight loss!

The next week continue with the water only routine and add walking for thirty minutes every day. Either use a treadmill or get out and walk in your neighborhood. If it's hot or cold, so what! Dress appropriately, select the best time of day for the weather, and get out and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. Drink a little water before and after your walk and you will feel great!

To continue to shed holiday fat, in the third week add eating an apple a day to the regimen. Replace some poor snack choice with an apple! It's a healthy food that is loaded with fiber. If you want, add a tablespoon of peanut butter. Franz loves apples and peanut butter! An apple a day keeps the doctor a way!

After three weeks you will have added three new habits. Keep at it! Add something new each week until you reach your weight loss goals. If you do you will find it's easier to shed holiday fat. It takes three weeks for something to become a habit, one that will replace a bad one. So, keep at it and you will find that you will not return to the bad habits that lead to your weight gain.
