Many people around the world are obsessed with their looks and weight, however a lot of programs or diet plans are not free. Below I have outlined a free diet plan for weight loss to help you succeed.

These are simple and easy steps to follow.

  1. Plan your meals for 5 - 7 days and include in the plan, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Stick to a maximum calorie intake and make sure you buy enough so you don't go snack shopping because you've run out of food.
  2. Don't stock up on junk food, otherwise you'll be tempted and before you know it, you've consumed 1000's of calories.
  3. Don't ban foods. Probably the worst thing you can do. Dieting is hard enough as it is, let alone cutting out all your favourite chocolate and biscuits, so once a week treat yourself but make sure it's in moderation.
  4. Use smaller plates. Smaller the plate the less food you have on it, it takes 20 minutes for our brain to say your belly is full so eat slow and small portions.
  5. Eat fibre rich food. Foods such as fruit and veg, wholegrain bread, brown rice and pasta are all high in fibre and keep you feeling full longer.
  6. Don't skip breakfast. Very important not to skip breakfast as it is breakfast that gives you your nutrients for the day and also will stop you from snacking later in the morning when you are hungry.
  7. Eat regular meals. Little and often is key. Your body will break down the foods quicker and burn calories faster as well as reduce the temptation to snack on foods high in fat and sugar.
  8. Eat plenty of fruit and veg. They are low in calories and fat but high in fibre, three essential ingredients in weight loss
  9. Drink plenty of water. Another very important point. You should aim to drink between 6 - 8 pints per day as sometimes people confuse thirst with hunger. Water is all you need. Plus it really helps with hydrating you skin.
  10. Keep active. Dieting is not enough on it's own, you will need to exercise as well. If you live and work in the same town then walk or ride to work. If you don't then go for a nice brisk walk during your lunch break

Men should eat and drink no more than 1,900 kcal a day and a women should not eat or drink no more than 1,400 kcal per day. If you eat more than the recommended daily allowance then you will need to gradually reduce your intake over the coming weeks.

Some key points that are very easy to follow, but above all these determination is key. You need to be determined to stick to a plan each day, don't eat rubbish foods until that one "special" day where you can eat maybe 1 chocolate bar, just to keep the craving away. If you cheat, you're only cheating yourself.

There is no point on using these super duper fast diet plans or weight loss programs that claim to help you lose a certain amount of weight in a few weeks. Your body needs you to eat correctly and eat healthy (apart from the odd chocolate bar here and there) so stick to the plan above and you'll succeed.
