The First thing you do is to rid your home of all foods that do not fall into the healthy categories. Keep junk foods and beverages out of your home if you can. Keep healthy snacks like carrot sticks, yogurt, fresh fruit, or whole-wheat crackers on hand. In case you cannot bear to toss out the sweets, try keeping something on hand, like chocolate chips. Eating a few of these won't ruin your diet but also will give you that little sugary fix you rave.

Processed and refined foods are usually high in sugar, salt, preservatives, chemicals, additives, saturated fat and trans fats. These foods don't help in developing a healthy lifestyle.If your consumption of fresh food is less that half your total diet then it is a good healthy eating idea to increase your daily intake of fresh food until it is at least half of your diet.
